Our recreational classes marked "Production Class" are a wonderful way for beginning or recreational students to gain a better understanding of ballet productions and the art of story telling through movement. Often, these classes foster an interest in the art of ballet leading the child to participate in larger story ballet roles in the future through our auditioning process. We beleive W.V students are creative, talented, and hard working. By giving young students and recreational students an oppotunity to participate in our story ballets, we offering them an opportunity to realize their own potential as artists.
True Impact Performing Arts Foundation, a non-profit organization, hosts two story ballets annually. By offering the story ballet experience to our students, we're creating well rounded students who understand that dance stems from a "process" rather than a fast route to a "product". Lessons that are learned in the classroom and on the conert stage will prepare a student for life regardless of what career path they choose to follow as adults.
When students audition for story ballet roles, they are placed in True Impact's Youth Dance Company which meets regularly for ballet classes through the week and a weekend rehearsal. Students are assigned roles based on their audition, previous in class work ethics including the ability to follow through with comittments.
Youth Dance Company students are required to take 3 ballet classes weekly. Pointe students are to take pointe as a 4th class to ensure safety of promote proper training. In addition to our winter and spring story ballets, True Impact Youth Dance Company students also participate in Dance West Virginia's Fall Dance Festival held in Jackson's Mill each season, The West Virginia Dance Festival, and one local dance competition annually.
